More Than a Stable
Keno Hills Stable & Tack Shop sits on 160 acres of beautiful Alberta prairie on the outskirts of Sherwood Park. Since 1985, we've welcomed thousands of riders, from tiny tots sitting in a saddle for the very first time to competitive athletes pursuing their equestrian dreams.
Our philosophy is simple: quality care, honest and respectful horsemanship, and an unhurried approach that lets every rider and every horse thrive. We're a warm, welcoming equestrian centre where classic traditions meet family-friendly fun.

The Rescue 100 Story

The SPCA agreed to turn over 97 neglected and starving horses to Susan Fyfe, a horse breeder east of Edmonton who committed to raise money to save the animals.
Susan, who runs Keno Hills Stable in Ardrossan, went on a mission to save the horses after she heard about the Arabians being seized from a ranch near Andrew, about 100 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
The Alberta SPCA said 27 horses died of neglect, while 100 others were rescued in late February 2008. An auctioneer was asked to prepare the surviving 97 horses for sale, but Susan hounded the Alberta SPCA to give them to her instead.
Officials inspected her stables and agreed to hand the horses over to her as long as they were monitored. Morris Airey, director of animal protection services, said he was confident Susan and the group she started, Rescue 100, would take good care of the animals.
She looked for donations and volunteers to help nurse the horses back to health, receiving calls from as far away as New York and Texas. A veterinarian examined the animals once they arrived, and once healthy, the plan was to adopt them out to good homes.
